The time Slash performed with Dave Kushner and Bill Burr on stage

Imagine playing a benefit concert and having Slash join you on stage. Yep. Sounds like a dream, right? For comedian Bill Burr, it was the surprise of a lifetime.

Dave Kushner, musician, composer and one of Burr's close friends, asked Burr to play drums with him at a benefit for a school in Hollywood Hills. What Kushner didn't tell him was that Slash from Guns N' Roses would be joining them on stage.

We've recently had both Burr and Kushner as guests on Fueled by Death Cast, so we got both sides of the story.

"[Dave's] introducing me, I see people are just walking off the stage... I was like, 'What's going on?' And [Dave] goes, 'And we got another couple special guests,'" Burr recalls on Fueled by Death Cast. "So immediately I'm thinking, 'Wait, what's going on here? We didn't rehearse this.' He goes, 'Please welcome, from Guns N' Roses, Duff McKagen and Slash.' And I was like, 'What the fuck?' And I just saw them coming up."

"[Bill] sneaks on stage, he's sitting at the drum set. I'm like 'Oh, let me introduce my friend, Bill Burr, playing drums.' And I'm like 'Oh, and I have two other guests.' And it turns out that Slash went to that elementary school when he was a kid," Kushner said. "Then I introduce them. So they start walking up and I look back dude. And I see his, he was just like... like literally just had his head down. And we talked afterwards. And he's like dude I just couldn't even lift my head up cause if I did I would just become a fucking teenage kid again."
