The Coffee Cherry, Explained

That’s Right. Coffee Is A Fruit.

Do you ever wonder why coffee makes you poop? That’s because coffee beans are a magical fruit. The more you drink, the more you’ll scoop! Yes, you heard me. Coffee is a fruit, which is why it’s grown in the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Coffee plants require a tropical mist with warm climates year-round to achieve the perfect result.

It’s important to understand where coffee comes from so that we also understand the flavors the coffee seed is capable of developing. Since coffee seeds come from a fruit, the outcome of the taste can yield a fruit-like flavor when it is not completely roasted out, as well as floral notes. Are you someone that likes a little bit of coffee with your sugar? While we’re at it, we might as well toss in those flavored syrups to cover the natural coffee flavor, too, right? Correct me if I’m wrong, but it sounds to me like you don’t like coffee, and if you do, I’ve got a challenge for you. The next time you go to the coffee shop, try asking for a few naked samples of the different varieties of coffee they have to offer.  Maybe you’ll be surprised to find that the blueberry, orange, or peach flavors you’re adding are actually already present in the coffee by itself. The benefit to this? Coffee, taken black, with no additives, is naturally a zero-calorie beverage. HOORAH!
