7 of summer 2019's most popular coffee trends

There's always new trends popping up in the coffee industry — there are ones we love, like the spike in popularity of cold brew, and the ones we hate, like adding f&*king broccoli powder to your coffee.

Beyond cold brew, coffee shops across the country are coming up with their own caffeinated concoctions to keep you buzzed all summer long. What do you think of these coffee trends?

Floral flavors

From floral-infused lattes and iced coffees, light floral tastes are making their way into coffees everywhere. By using floral syrups and extracts, coffee shops are creating a herbal base for coffee. Some of the most popular flavors are lavender, rose, and hibiscus.

Canned cold brew

Canned cold brew is the perfect option for when you're on-the-go and need your caffeine fix STAT. A lot of companies are coming out with canned cold brew, and we're one of them! Our cold brew is available now if you're looking for a ready-to-drink cold brew option with a strong kick.

Adding herbs and other natural ingredients

Espresso Mint Julip, anyone? This is just one example of a herbal-infused coffee recipe. Adding fresh herbs to certain recipes makes your coffee taste refreshing, especially if you're sitting poolside with an ice cold coffee. A lot of recipes use fresh mint, and other recipes use cardamom, coriander, lavender, or cinnamon.

Cold brew coffee liquor

This is something we're completely behind, mainly because Death Wish Coffee Vodka exists. Cold brew coffee liquor is popping up nationwide because it adds a smooth, caffeinated twist to your favorite cocktails.

Iced matcha latte

For people who find cold brew to have too strong of a kick, iced matcha is a caffeinated alternative. It's not coffee, but it still has a caffeine kick.

Cold brew infusions

More companies are adding a variety of flavors to their cold brew, and there are a ton of infused cold brew recipes out there. These recipes include cinnamon, vanilla bean, and even lemonade and soda.

Cascara coffee

Cascara coffee is made with the dried outer layer of coffee cherries — aka it's basically a coffee tea. It's described as having a sweet, fruity taste with notes of rose hip, hibiscus, cherry, and red currant. It doesn't hold the same caffeine content as coffee.
