More than 3,000 toys donated to Toys for Toga

Toys for Toga did it again — for the 7th annual toy drive, more than 3,000 toys were donated and more than $5,000 was raised to benefit three local charities.

We were honored to participate for the fourth year in a row with DeCrescente Distributing Company, Druthers Brewing, and Discover Saratoga, and we cannot thank you enough for stopping by to donate a toy. Thanks to you, Franklin Community Center, CAPTAIN Community Human Services and Mechanicville Area Community Services Center can ensure children in Saratoga County can have the best holiday season possible.

In addition to these partners, more than 50 local businesses around us collected multiple boxes of toys. At Death Wish, we collected more than 1,400 toys in exchange for bags of coffee — beating our goal of last year by more than 200 toys!

“This is the definition of teamwork,” said Karly DeSimone, Communications Manager at DeCrescente, in a statement on their website. “Seeing the DDC truck packed with thousands of toys that will directly impact families right here in our very own backyard is a sight I won’t ever forget.”

Thank you so much to DeCrescente for packing up a truckload of toys and for allowing us to participate again! And a big thank you to Druthers Brewing, Discover Saratoga, and the dozens of other businesses that teamed up to help kids in our backyard.

And thanks to you for donating toys! Seriously, we think our hearts grew three sizes the day we counted up and boxed all the toys — this is what the holiday season is truly about. Mugs up!
